After such a brilliant response to Saturday’s 25th Anniversary Festival of Football, attention turns back to the competitive action this week — and there is plenty to look forward to.

The biggest game of the week comes on Wednesday evening, when  Abbey Rangers Minors face Cappagh in the Championship Semi-Final in Ballykelly at 8pm.

A place in the  Final is at stake and, after the fantastic club and community atmosphere we saw at the weekend, it would be great to carry some of that support into Wednesday night and get behind the lads.

Our younger Kildangan teams are also back on the pitch. The U9s face Ballykelly on Thursday at 6.15pm in Ballykelly, while our U11s welcome Round Towers to Kildangan at 6.30pm the same evening. On Friday, the U8s travel to Suncroft for a 6.30pm game.

These younger teams are where it all starts. A huge amount of work goes in week after week from their coaches and volunteers, helping the children develop their football while, most importantly, making sure they enjoy being part of Kildangan GAA. Best of luck to all the boys and girls pulling on the jersey this week — enjoy every minute of it. 💚💛

There is more Championship football on Sunday morning when Abbey Rangers U14s take on Raheens in Kildangan at 9.45am. Another important game and another opportunity to get down and support our young players.

Kildangan-Nurney Seniors face Towers on Tuesday evening at 8pm in Towers.

On Thursday, Trinity Gaels U12s take on Na Fianna in Allenwood at 7pm, while on Saturday the U14s face Ballymore in Ballykelly at 3pm.

Last Saturday showed just how special it can be when the whole club and village come together — and the next big part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations is now only a few weeks away.
