Last Sunday night, Kildangan Hall was overflowing with festive spirit as our parish gathered for one of the most anticipated events of the year – the Kildangan GAA Christmas Celebration and 200 Club Finale. It was a night filled with music, dancing, excitement, laughter, mince pies and community spirit. But at the heart of it all was something even more important: the incredible impact of the 200 Club, and what it has achieved in 2025

THE WINNERS – €11,000 GIVEN AWAY

We were thrilled to give away a total of €11,000 on the night.

€1,000 December Winner:
Aishling Goulding – a true club stalwart and a hugely popular winner.

€10,000 Grand Prize Winners – a syndicate of five from the Kildare GAA PRO Committee:
 • Lorraine Woulfe (Naas)
 • Sean McMullen (St Laurence’s)
 • Robert Criobben (Clane)
 • Sara Holden (Sarsfields)
 • Brendan Holmes (Celbridge)

Congratulations to all our winners.

THE IMPACT OF THE 200 CLUB

The 200 Club is a simple idea with extraordinary impact.

Two hundred people buy a €200 ticket.
€20,000 goes back to the community in prizes.
Another €20,000 goes directly into developing the club.

This year alone, thanks to your support, we were able to deliver:

 • New lighting
 • New dugouts
 • A defibrillator
 • A new pedestrian entrance

These are real improvements that directly benefit every child, every coach, every volunteer, and every supporter who comes through our gates.

The 200 Club also strengthens the club far beyond facilities. We now have almost 320 active members across the club – the highest number in our history. That growth is a reflection of your support, your belief in what we are building, and your commitment to keeping the club moving forward.

Every euro counts.
 Every ticket matters.
Every 200 Club member is helping shape the future of Kildangan GAA.

A MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT – OUR NEW JUVENILE PITCH

The big announcement  of the evening was the announcement that Kildangan GAA has secured a lease on the field directly across from our main pitch. This will become our new Juvenile Pitch, which we hope to have ready by next summer, weather permitting.

Huge thanks to:
 • Pat and Michael Behan for agreeing to lease the land
 • Keith Worrell and John Kilbride for preparing the pitch
 • All volunteers – especially the younger members – who picked stones and helped get it ready

It was said on the night, and it’s worth repeating:
“It’s wonderful to see young people helping build the facilities they will grow up using.”

This new pitch represents a major milestone for the club – a vital investment in the next generation, 25 years after the club was founded.

A NIGHT OF MAGIC, MUSIC AND COMMUNITY

A sincere thank you to:

Santa and Mrs Claus – Paul Hyland and Noreen Donoher
For bringing the magic of Christmas to life for every child in the hall.

Ger Harrison

LOOKING AHEAD – 200 CLUB 2026

All 2025 members will be given first option to renew their tickets for 2026.
This years 200 club  sold out in just 4 weeks and we  expect demand to be strong again in 2026 so a waiting list is now open.

Good evening - you're all very welcome to Kildangan Gaa’s Christmas Celebration and 200 club finale.
I'd like to begin this evening by saying how overwhelmed we were by the community’s response to this year’s 200 Club. Your support has made a real, tangible difference and we are exceptionally grateful.
It allowed us to put in new lighting, new dugouts, a defibrillator and a new pedestrian entrance — improvements that have genuinely improved our facilities for everyone who uses them.

The 200 Club is a simple but incredibly powerful idea. Two hundred people buy a €200 ticket. Payments can be made upfront or spread out over 8 months.
€20,000 goes back into the community in prizes, and another €20,000 goes directly into developing the club. Every euro is felt on the ground, and everyone who supports the 200 club is helping us build something bigger for the parish.

Because of your support, we are now the strongest we’ve ever been as regards numbers, with almost 320 members across the club. And we want to continue to grow and welcome even more people in the months and years ahead.

I’m also delighted this evening to officially announce that we have secured a lease on the field directly across from our main pitch — the future Juvenile Pitch, which we hope will be ready by next summer, if the weather is good to us.

A huge thank you to Pat and Michael Behan for agreeing to lease us the land and for their patience throughout the process. Sincere thanks also to Keith Worrell and John Kilbride for preparing the pitch, and to all the volunteers — especially our younger members — who picked stones and helped get it ready. It’s wonderful to see them helping build the facilities they will grow up using.

All of this continues a journey that began 25 years ago, when families such as the Caseys, Christies, Dunnes, Lawlesses, McGraths, Millars, Morans, Quigleys and Sextons came together to form a club that would truly represent this community.

Next year, we will proudly mark those 25 years — a quarter century of local people giving their time, effort and heart to keep the club moving forward. Today, our senior team is 90% Kildangan-born, and as the village continues to grow, we can look forward to the coming 25 years knowing that the next generations coming up will continue wearing the green and yellow with pride.

This club was created by the community, and it belongs to the community. Whether you play, volunteer, coach, serve on a committee, or simply come up to cheer, you’re part of what makes this club special — and if you’re new to us tonight, we’d be genuinely delighted to welcome you in.

We’ll be running the 200 Club again in the new year. All current members will be offered the first opportunity to renew their tickets. We'd love to see new faces in the 200 club as well. The forms on the tables tonight are there if you’d like to join the 200 Club waiting list or just stay updated on everything we’re building together by joining our mailing list.

Thank you again for your incredible support, and best of luck to whoever wins the big prize this evening.
