Kildangan U12s hosted Allenwood at home in Round 2 of the U12 F Championship – Group A.

From the very first whistle, the team delivered a brilliant performance against a strong Allenwood side.

Kildangan opened the scoring through Zach, who quickly followed up with another fine point. Up front, Tiernan and Zach were on fire, linking up superbly and creating chances for Conor Hogan, Cameron, and Conor Gilroy. Leon pulled off a superb save to deny Allenwood a goal, before they replied with a point of their own.

In defence, Ollie and Sean were tight on their markers. Zach sent in a great ball for Cameron to fist to the net, before adding another point from a free. Our half backs Eva Rose, Sarah Jane, and Oscar were rock solid, breaking up attacks and launching counters. Off the bench, Fionn and Tadhg added fresh energy, with Fionn unlucky not to find the net. Sam then broke through the defence to score a brilliant goal, giving Kildangan a 2-3 to 0-1 lead at half time

After the break, Allenwood hit a couple of points to close the gap, but Jack steadied things with two frees. Allenwood pushed forward again but were denied another goal chance by the excellent Leon and Aidan.

Sam won a great ball and set up Cameron for his second goal. Emily, Niamh, and Conor were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet before Allenwood finally hit the net themselves. Tiernan then produced a superb solo run, finishing with a fine point to seal the win.

Final score: Kildangan 3-6, Allenwood 1-7.

There were standout performances all over the pitch from Eva Rose, Sarah Jane, Oscar, Sam, and Tiernan, but it was Zach who deservedly picked up Player of the Game.
